Ruler Of The Universe

I was commissioned by The University of Nottingham's physics department to make a frieze illustrating the universe at exponential scale. Showing the tiniest strings on the left all the way to the structures of galaxies on the right. These were printed and sent out to schools as a way to encourage applications from aspiring physicists.

Digital rough - fine tuning the measurements before tracing and painting the different sections.
The large scale structure of the universe - drawn in ink and then inverted in photoshop.
Two different layers of, using ink and charcoal of atomic scale objects. Which were later combined and coloured in photoshop.
